About us

Building Indiana is the largest statewide business-to-business magazine in Indiana, reaching 60,000 readers six times a year. In each issue, the award-winning publication chronicles business and economic development throughout the state, covering topics as diverse as construction, tourism, real estate, finance, human resources, business management strategies and much more. Building Indiana also engages business and civic leaders throughout the state online, and through face-to-face business events.

Building Indiana is published by Diversified Marketing Strategies (DMS), a full-service marketing firm headquartered in Crown Point, Indiana.

Building Indiana debuted in the fall of 2005 as a 16-page newsletter covering construction and economic development in a seven-county region in Northwest Indiana. It quickly developed a following, and strong support from advertisers allowed us to expand to a magazine format. In 2010, Building Indiana expanded from its initial geographic niche and launched coverage of business and economic development statewide.

The magazine’s management and readers share a belief in quality and access to information needed to enhance business success. We encourage our subscribers to think of Building Indiana as their own magazine and provide our staff with editorial suggestions on emerging issues and trends, and opinions offering a different perspective.

Since the magazine’s first publication we have received numerous prestigious publication awards. By working together with business and economic development leaders, Building Indiana will continue to serve as the premier business-to-business magazine for the state of Indiana.
