Benjamin J. Bochnowski, chairman of the Indiana Bankers Association, has been honored as a Sagamore of the Wabash by Gov. Eric J. Holcomb. The award was presented by Tom Fite, director of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions during the chairman’s banquet at the IBA Annual Convention in French Lick. The Sagamore of the Wabash is given to exemplary Hoosiers in recognition of distinguished statewide service.
Bochnowski is CEO of Peoples Bank, Munster. He also serves on the board of directors of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions, a position he was appointed to by Gov. Holcomb in 2019. Locally he serves on the boards of directors of One Region and Allies for Community Business.

Bochnowski earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan; an MBA from the ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain; a leadership certificate from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; and is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
